The Whittier Baptist Church located on the corner of Greenleaf and Lambert in Whittier, California was founded in the early 60s by another baptist congregation. The building is approximately 20,000 sq ft. offering a full sanctuary area, a sunday school, and a full working kitchen. The location holds three different congregations including the Laotians at the latter time service.
Lao Baptist Church was established early 1980s, for the Laotian refugee in their new homeland and country, America. Pastor Dr. Inta Chanthavongsouk, saw that there were many spiritual needs and growth among the Laotian. He felt that God was calling him to form a place where Lao people could come together for fellowship and a place of worship.
For over 30 years, Lao Baptist Church has served many families and many have comes to know God. The Laotian love their church, many are now devoted their lives to serve God and building up his church and the body. Lao Baptist Church is now one of the most unique Southern Baptist Church in Southern California.
Until this day, we're still maintaining a strong traditional outreach to the Lao community. Our purpose is to help bringing people to the true living God. Teaching them, equipping them, and to help save them from eternal condemnation, through his son Jesus Christ. - John 3:16
